Sexy Koena's Picture Gallery

Koena Mitra

The dusky beauty from Bengal began her career as a model after winning the Gladrags Supermodel contest. Koena featured in a couple of music videos and made it big in TV commercials as she modeled for ACP Whisky, Miranda, Maruti Alto and Clinic All Clear. Koena’s first break in Bollywood was an item number in Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Road’; the song “Khullam Khulla” became a big craze and Koena got typecasted as an item girl. Koena was flooded with offers to do raunchy numbers in Bollywood movies, but she refused as she was waiting to make her mark as an actress. It took Koena two years and Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Musafir’ to break the mould. Even tough the actress played a dancer in the movie, she did have a cameo.
Pritish Nandy’s ‘Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena’ was Koena’s first claim to fame as she played the lead actress opposite Fardeen Khan in the movie. Even tough the movie wasn’t a hit, Koena finally made it to the actress club. Koena dramatics aren’t very impressive, but she is able to procure roles with her dancing style and image.

Koena Mitra can take care of herself !!!!!

She may be single and alone in a city like Mumbai — not to mention her hazaar outdoors, but Koena Mitra is managing well. She feels that a girl who wants to make a career needs to know how to take care of herself. "Though I wasn’t a tomboy, I could always take care of myself," says the actress.
"My parents knew that and they weren't worried about whether I could make it on my own in Mumbai. They've always been very supportive and understanding. I have gone through hard times and sometimes I even had to make my own decisions. I am not saying a star son or daughter has it easier, they too are weighed down by expectations, but at least they are lucky and fortunate that they have someone to guide them and show them the right path in this industry. It has all been the hard way and I had to start everything from scratch."

Koena Mitra is in skies over her performance with Nelly Furtado!!!!
Koena Mitra, who is waiting for a good break in bollywood, is excited over her New Year’s Eve performance with the wellknown, Canadian Grammy winner and singer Nelly Furtado.
Koena Mitra said, “It was a night I’d never forget. It wasn’t just the best live show I’ve performed in, but the best live show I’ve ever seen.”
Koena was extremely excited and couldn’t stop raving about the experience at the show, after she finished performing with Furtado, composer A R Rahman, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor.

“For four hours the young crowds were on their feet. I had never performed in front of a standing crowd before. Normally, when you’ve a seated crowd you could end up with the worst deal… audiences eating, or worse drinking, as you perform. For once the crowds were totally with us. All of us - Nelly, Priyanka, Shahid, Rahmanji and me –felt so alive. There was no room to get tired. The audiences’ enthusiasm just kept our energy level going.”
Koena is very much impressed over by the sheer professionalism of Nelly. “And at the end we were all invited by Rahmanji on stage to bring in 2007 at midnight. We all sang ‘Humma humma’ (from ‘Bombay’) to bring in the New Year. Really, it was four hours of undiluted fun. I can’t think of a better way to bring in the New Year.” added Koena.
The guys danced to their feet , so much, that after the show Koena hardly had any energy to do anything else. She admitted,”I just came home and kept watching clippings of our show on television. The next few days, I’m just chilling at home visiting friends and shopping.”
The Canadian Grammy winner began her performance with an acoustic version of I’m like a bird and also stunned the audience with a rendition of Kabhie Kabhie and Yeh Samaa. Performances by Priyanka Chopra, Koena Mitra, Shahid Kapur and AR Rehman paled in comparison.
